Re: Commission on Vulnerable Employment visit to Bristol

I just wanted to write to thank you for your help with our fieldtrip to Bristol. The event provided the Commissioners with a real chance to better understand people’s experiences of working in the UK, and to hear first hand about the impacts of vulnerable work upon people’s day-to-day lives. Despite a late start, the meeting really enabled us all to focus upon what we are trying to achieve with the Commission’s work. Your support and contribution were greatly appreciated.

I am aware that we were pushed for time on the day, and that there are many issues we did not have the time to cover in depth during the session. We are however running a full public consultation, which we welcome submissions to (full details at http://www.vulnerableworkers.org.uk/cove-evidence-gathering/cove-consultation) and over future months will be running a range of research projects, some of which will involve further interviews with key professionals. We will therefore be doing our best to follow up on the issues that were raised during the discussions, and would also value your input to these ongoing projects.
