Dear Helen

I am writing to thank you for all the support that you and your organisation give to the charity either by attending events and sponsoring them, playing in our chanty golf tournament, donating raffle prizes and so much more.

We could not achieve all that we do without your support. The College Foundation is a very small charity with a very big heart and we are committed to providing that extra support for those students at The College who have nowhere else to turn.

We have just selected the students who will receive awards and bursaries from our Trust Funds and I would like to share with you some quotes from the application forms -

"I didn't have a lot of GCSEs when I came to College. I wanted to have a fresh start in life and to build up my skills and qualifications. I've had personal issues which unfortunately messed around with my education. I haven't a lot of money and I'm very determined to succeed and I'd like to think this College will be behind me to support me" - Student age 17 years

The Tutor's supporting statement -

This student has had several years in foster homes and care homes. She is now living in a supported hostel. She has no support from her parents and very little from her extended family. She is a bright, capable, honest and organised student who deserves to do well. She has 100% attendance on this course. She is growing in confidence day-by-day. I can see a good future for her. She is very 'employable'."

There are many stories like this one where a young person is striving against all the, odds to succeed on a course of study here at The Bournemouth and Poole College without any family support. We still have a long way to go before we can assist all those students who need a helping hand but with your continued support I know that we will reach our goal.
